fiction SHOULD = fun

happy new year folks! a brand new day, a brand new year, a brand new fictional character to obsess over! nothing beats lying under the covers of your bed and reading a great fanfic about your favorite character... i even do it once in a while! although i prefer doujinshis! it's a wonder that you can finish a show, a movie, a book, a game or other and find yourself obsessed with that brand new world that you just discovered. honestly, fiction was a blessing & a curse in some ways. its nice to see cool character designs, well-written stories and plots, how others perceive stuff & all the astonishing ideas that a fandom can create. its nice to make self-inserts into your favorite universe, or draw fanart of characters you like. i see nothing wrong with people enjoying what they enjoy, and there's no need for others to get angry for one reason or another about something as trivial as disliking a headcanon, ship, or redesign. way too many people obsess over whats canon vs what's not, and it sucks the fun out of everything! its called fiction because it's not real, so what's the big deal? although there are definitely things i can't support either, there are lots that are great and interesting and fun if you just look a little deeper... so yeah... maybe this person's cringe or that show's cringe or i'm cringe or whatever... or maybe some people just haven't found anything they like yet. after all, there's no greater joy then opening up twitter or tumblr and looking at fanart of your favorite characters, atleast in my opinion. its even more fun if you can engage with others in positive ways and make friends in that fandom or community!! i see way too much negativity over stupid stuff everywhere. when you can just like. go on about your own business and do like what you like, do what you like, and not care about anything else. because its really not that deep. if you think someone else's interests are cringe, then maybe you're the cringy one... after all, it's the internet, and no one cares if YOU don't have fun, or if YOU are too busy hating on something else. so go like stuff. go have fun!
