lets talk about my favorite dr stone character... asagiri gen!! with suika & yuzuriha following close behind... anyway!!!! i absolutely love gen, his character n everything about him is just great in my opinion!!! i feel like he's very mischaracterized most of the time, so let's talk about that. gen's whole shtick is that he's shallow, superficial & a liar. thats what he wants every1 to think after all!!! most of the stuff he says is straight up lies (as shown by his first appearance in the manga & anime) and he's also very good at lying. i feel like if senku hadn't known who he was before he probably couldve fooled him, not kohaku though she saw through everything. he acts shallow when in reality he's not, but thats what gen wants everyone to believe!!!! he claims he'd switch to whatever team is winning, and whichever has the best perks (which i mean.. lowkey i would too) but i don't that's the case. i feel like he never agreed with tsukasa's ideals to begin with, so when he found senku & the others and basically a way out of it, he pretended like he was fake as an excuse to join them immediately. when i think about the cola scene as well, that was pretty much gen making an "exchange" but there was no exchange, because he was gonna end up joining the kingdom of science no matter what. he asked for something so little, a cola, in return for betraying tsukasa, probably to seem like he was actually that superficial. i mean doing something so risky JUST for a cola? who would do that?? youd have to be like.. heh.. unbelievably shallow... am i right... haha... he asked for the cola to build his persona, and continue to act as though he didn't care about anything unless he was getting what he wanted. this seems to change throughout the show, as its pretty obvious he actually cares about his friends, & is loyal to them. he doesn't drop the persona fully though, and there's definitely a reason for that. the few times when gen isn't acting lighthearted, he's actually pretty sentimental which is cute!!! with gen's main act being a magician and a mentalist, it;s pretty obvious that he'd have some air of mystery around him. and besides a few clips of before the petrification happened, there's not much about his backstory or why he acts this way. maybe its for survival in the stone world? idk. his acts getting kinda dull (i mean what was he trying to pull on xeno??? i guess it almost worked) but there's definitely a lot more to be explored in his character overall.

now that we're done with that whole analyzation of gen's character............. i jsut want to say that i LOVE HIM hes so silly and im so glad he fets shoes eventually i just know those feet are calloused im sobbinf what the hell am i writing right now
